Accountability
Situation
Historically, the UC system has not had an independent student group calling for accountability. We are establishing the foundation and fundamental standard for all leaders in our community. Accountability is critical to ensure transparency. The more we as students know about what is going “behind the scenes,” the more opportunities for change. There is immense power that comes with awareness.
Action

Empower diverse voices and advocate for students of different walks of life to be included in conversations that will impact their experience.

Communicate with UC organizations to involve them in campaigns, receive input, and endorsements.

Schedule virtual public forums/town halls for students.

Develop a liaison team to work with official UC entities.

Recognize, create and implement promotion of diversity.

Promote student involvement in AS meetings.
Result
Successfully advocated for the return of a $5,300 BLM donation from ASUCR
Campaigned against the ASUCSB president due to multiple hidden SA allegations during elections, resulting in the resignation of ASUCSB president.
Kept students educated on ongoing issues within the UC system.
