Gauchos 4 Transparency

Following the impact that was caused by the COVID pandemic, campus closures, and ever increasing disparities impacting our most vulnerable student communities, G4T took advantage of remote study to initiate an unprecedented social media campaign focused on informing students about issues that were extremely important, but not being addressed at UC Santa Barbara.

Our social media grew to nearly 5,000 followers within just a few months, equal to 25% of the school's population. We even began a second account focused solely on the Corona Virus pandemic which averaged nearly 500,000 impressions per month.

Our success garnered real world change when strict health ordinances were installed and a local testing facility was secured. We're happy to say that there have been no deaths by COVID-19 in the Isla Vista area and we were able to assist in 4,000 individuals initial vaccine appointments.
